Ferndown Middle School closed on May 13 due to reported cases of sickness and diarrhoea linked to norovirus. The UK Health Security Agency assisted with guidance to minimize infection risk. The school opted for early weekend closure to facilitate thorough cleaning, including fogging of the premises. Interim headteacher Grant Hopkins announced the school reopened on May 18, thanking the community for their support and expressing hope for a disruption-free end to the term. The measures were aimed at ensuring a safe return for students and staff after the health concerns had passed.
