Ivy Forest, a 25-year-old BCP Council apprentice, has significantly improved the experience for children transitioning between care homes by ending the practice of using black bin bags for their belongings. This change, allowing children to receive suitcases or duffel bags instead, aims to make them feel valued during unsettling times. Ivy works as a Housing Options Officer apprentice, assisting families with housing stability. Her involvement with BCP Council began at age 13 through Willow’s Story, and she later co-chaired the Corporate Parenting Board, advocating for youth in care. Ivy intends to continue her support as a volunteer.
