BCP Council is upgrading play areas in Bournemouth, Christchurch, and Poole as part of its Plan for Play strategy, investing over £4.6 million in about 120 sites. Refurbishments at Noyce Gardens, Mallard Road, Muscliff Park, King’s Park, and Bourne Valley will feature designs influenced by local children and families, including new swings, slides, and sensory play elements for increased accessibility. Councillor Sandra Moore emphasized the impact of community involvement on decisions. Upcoming refurbishments will also occur at additional sites like Anchor Close and Hamworthy Park, with start dates announced soon. Recent upgrades were completed at Treasure Island and other locations.
