BCP Council has initiated a £24 million tender to find a new operator for Poole Crematorium, which has been inactive since 2020 due to equipment failures. Although ceremonial services continue at Halo Hall, cremations have been conducted in Bournemouth. The council’s goal is to secure a 20-year partnership to restore operations by 2027, improving services for families in Bournemouth, Christchurch, and Poole. Councillor Sandra Moore emphasized the community’s desire for the site’s reactivation. Interested companies can submit bids until July 2026, with a decision expected by February 2027. Stakeholder consultations are ongoing, and interest has been noted.
