A red heat health alert has been issued for Bournemouth, Christchurch, and Poole on Wednesday and Thursday, marking the first of its kind since July 2022. In addition, an Amber extreme heat warning is active due to ongoing hot conditions. Local councils will maintain regular services while supporting vulnerable residents. No school closures have been announced, but residents are advised to stay hydrated and look after others, especially those at greater risk. Community cooling spaces are available, and beachgoers should use sunscreen and stay safe in the water. Lifeguarded areas are recommended, with 150 free water refill stations along the seafront.
