Over 1,200 attendees watched 43 people being baptized on Bournemouth Beach during a service organized by 14 local churches from the BCP Church collective. This event, the first of two beach baptisms planned for consecutive weekends, follows last year’s gathering, which drew over 1,300 people and saw 92 baptisms. Participant Val Simon expressed the significance of the event, emphasizing that it’s never too late to commit. Church leaders highlighted the gathering as a hopeful demonstration of faith, uniting Christians from various backgrounds. A second baptism event is scheduled for next Sunday, with expectations for another large turnout.
