Residents of Christchurch have returned home after a police cordon was lifted following the discovery of a suspected explosive device on Suffolk Avenue on June 15, 2026. The police secured the area during extensive searches, leading to the identification of additional potential explosives, which were safely neutralized by an Explosive Ordnance Disposal team. The restrictions were removed on June 18, allowing residents to resume normal activities after several days of disruption. Three individuals have been charged with various weapons and explosives offenses, with court appearances scheduled. Authorities thanked the community for their patience during this complex situation.
