MP welcomes MenB vaccine rollout

Jessica Toale has praised a new meningitis B vaccination program targeting young people in the UK. Approximately one million individuals, particularly Year 13 students and 18 to 25-year-olds entering university or residential education, will receive two doses of the MenB vaccine this autumn. This initiative follows the tragic death of student Meg Draper in October 2025, who had only received the MenACWY vaccine, which does not protect against MenB. Vaccinations will be available through pharmacies in July and August, with Year 13 students contacted by the NHS and eligible under-25s having the option to book directly.
