Petition launched to save Moordown lollipop man

Residents of Moordown are petitioning to keep local school crossing patrol officer Martin, amid fears the council may cut this role for budget reasons. Families emphasize his importance in ensuring children’s safety while crossing a busy road. The BCP Council has not made final decisions on individual patrols and is considering upgrading some locations with permanent crossings, like zebra or button-controlled ones. Councillor Richard Herrett assured that children’s safety is a priority and any changes will follow thorough assessments and road safety checks.
