BCP Council is set to submit its Local SEND Reform Plan to the Government by June 19, aimed at enhancing support for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities. The plan incorporates feedback from children, young people, parents, and carers. If approved, the Government may cover 90% of the council’s historic SEND deficit, with BCP responsible for the remaining 10%. Councillor Richard Burton emphasized the need for a supportive environment for families. The council’s plan reflects progress acknowledged by Ofsted and the Care Quality Commission while recognizing the need for further improvements.
