Under a government directive, alcohol sale rules are temporarily relaxed for licensed venues in Bournemouth, Christchurch, and Poole during the World Cup knockout stages involving England and Scotland. Venues can remain open until 1am for matches starting between 5pm and 9pm and until 2am for those starting between 9pm and 10pm, without requiring Temporary Event Notices. However, this order does not cover regulated entertainment or late-night refreshments. Councillor Kieron Wilson expressed support for fans, aiming to foster a safe and enjoyable matchday atmosphere and encouraging visitors to enjoy local hospitality.
