Bournemouth homes for Afghan families and others in need

BCP Council announces the construction of affordable homes on Surrey Road, addressing local housing needs while fulfilling national resettlement commitments. Three homes will serve as temporary accommodation to alleviate reliance on costly emergency options like Bed & Breakfasts for families. Additionally, five homes will house Afghan families as part of the UK Government’s resettlement initiative. This project, supported by the Local Authority Housing Fund (LAHF), aims to expand long-term housing supply amid high demand in the region. Around 15 similar homes for Afghan and Ukrainian families are already available across Bournemouth, Christchurch, and Poole.
