Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole (BCP) Council has launched a trial aimed at enhancing transport accessibility for holders of the Disabled Person’s English National Concessionary Travel Scheme (ENCTS) pass. Funded by the Government’s Local Area Bus Grant and supported by £50,000 from BCP Council, the scheme allows off-peak journeys for £1 before 9.30am and after 11pm on weekdays, while travel remains free during core hours and on weekends. Approximately 6,500 disabled ENCTS pass holders are expected to benefit. The council aims to evaluate the trial’s success for potential permanent adoption.
