Dorset Council is promoting awareness for Carers Week, running from June 8 to June 14, emphasizing the importance of recognizing unpaid carers. This year’s theme, “Building Carer Friendly Communities,” advocates for improved services to meet carers’ needs. Many individuals don’t identify as carers despite providing support to loved ones. Throughout the week, various events will facilitate connections and access to information for carers. Dorset’s Carer Service, managed by Help & Care, offers resources for maintaining the wellbeing of unpaid carers, including coaching and support services. An AI platform called Bridget also provides 24/7 assistance.
