Lytchett Minster and Upton councillor Charlie Squires met with Dorset Police and Crime Commissioner David Sidwick and the Purbeck Neighbourhood Policing Team to address rising crime concerns, including shed break-ins and antisocial behavior. Officers will respond to victims, offer security advice, and hold monthly drop-in sessions to enhance community communication. Police visibility will increase from three to five officers. Squires emphasized the importance of reporting crimes to aid investigations. Shoplifting remains a concern, with a reported 70% success rate under Operation Shopkeeper. Residents are urged to report non-emergency crimes via 101 or CrimeStoppers.
