Samaritans Bournemouth mark 65 years of service

The Bournemouth branch of Samaritans, celebrating its 65th anniversary, provides vital emotional support to the community. In April, volunteers dedicated 707 hours, responding to 2,814 calls. Recognized as the largest branch in the south, it relies entirely on public donations, receiving no government funding. Co-branch directors Mathew and Barbara express pride in their dedicated volunteers, emphasizing their critical role in providing support to those in need. During Volunteers’ Week, running from June 1-7, the branch underscores its commitment to offering a confidential listening ear for anyone requiring immediate emotional assistance, which can be accessed by calling 116 123.
