On June 2, Bournemouth Mayor Councillor Roberto Rocca honored five Home Library volunteers at Bournemouth Central Library, recognizing their collective 50 years of service with Royal Voluntary Service Long Service awards. The RVS Home Library Service aids residents who cannot access library services in person. Councillor Rocca expressed gratitude for the volunteers’ roles in providing not just books, but also companionship and support, particularly during Volunteers’ Week. Stacey Woods, service coordinator for the BCP Council Home Library Service, emphasized the importance of local volunteers and their contributions to the community.
