Police drones target drink and drug drivers in crackdown

Dorset Police used drones over Sandbanks on May 29 to address community concerns about anti-social driving. This operation involved drone officers capturing aerial footage to identify traffic violations. Consequently, 70 drivers were recorded speeding and two were arrested for drink and drug driving. Additional offenses included driving without insurance, using a mobile phone while driving, and not wearing seatbelts. Inspector Lee Turner emphasized their commitment to utilizing technology to enhance road safety and urged community cooperation to report any unsafe driving behavior. The police and crime commissioner reinforced that such conduct is intolerable.
