Off-duty firefighter Chris Newman, who heard the incident, rushed to assist Alfie, keeping him conscious and in the recovery position until emergency services arrived. Alfie’s mother, Katy, expressed her gratitude, noting that Chris essentially saved her son’s life. Alfie was initially unconscious but is now recovering at home with prescribed pain relief. The emergency response included police and ambulance services, and Chris’s actions exemplified the dedication of firefighters in the community.
