Teenager elected vice-chair of UK Youth Council board

Millie Johnson has been appointed vice-chair of Youth Council UK’s (YCUK) inaugural executive board, representing youth across the UK, Crown Dependencies, and Overseas Territories. One of 19 members aged 16 to 25, Johnson expressed her excitement to amplify young people’s voices and address obstacles to political engagement, along with advocating for improved Relationships, Sex, and Health Education (RSHE) in schools. The board’s priorities involve influencing decision-makers at various levels and fostering collaboration within the youth sector. They will serve a two-year term, with elections set for 2028, supported by a non-voting advisory board.
