Tom Hayes, the Labour MP for Bournemouth East, is collaborating with South Western Railway (SWR) to improve train travel times between Bournemouth and London Waterloo. He advocates for the first comprehensive timetable update since 2004 and supports SWR’s public consultation. Hayes emphasized the need for faster links to create jobs and opportunities, noting that current journey times are longer than in the 1970s-80s. He calls for a review of train stops and better Sunday services at Pokesdown and Christchurch. An in-person consultation event will be held at Bournemouth station on June 13 from 10 am to 2 pm.
