Bournemouth Airport’s European Cargo company goes into administration

European Cargo Limited, operating long-haul freighter flights from Bournemouth Airport, announced the appointment of joint administrators on June 3. Founded six years ago, the company converted ex-passenger planes into freighters and assisted with NHS PPE deliveries during the Covid pandemic. Anonymous staff reported being made redundant on a Microsoft Teams call the same day. The appointing administrators from Teneo Financial Advisory Limited included Stuart Morris, Robert Fishman, and David Soden. European Cargo was instrumental in Bournemouth Airport’s cargo hub growth, promoting it as a cost-effective alternative to major UK airports. Further details on redundancy and insolvency are pending.
