Poole incinerator scheme inquiry to begin

A public inquiry has begun regarding MVV Environment Limited’s proposal for an Energy from Waste facility at Canford Resource Park, Wimborne, capable of processing 260,000 tonnes of non-recyclable waste annually. The BCP Council’s planning committee rejected the project on June 12, 2025, amid 469 objections concerning health, traffic, and environmental impacts. Supporters argue it would reduce waste transportation distances and generate electricity for local businesses. The plans, which include a 110-meter chimney and 32 full-time jobs, are being heard at BCP Council’s Civic Centre in Bournemouth, with the inquiry expected to conclude on June 25.
