The Bournemouth Bach Choir will conclude its season with a concert at Romsey Abbey on June 13, titled “Heavenly Harmony.” The program includes Handel’s Coronation Anthems, such as “Zadok the Priest,” and Bach’s “Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring.” Romsey Abbey holds historical significance as the burial place of Lord Mountbatten, who served as a mentor to King Charles III. Music director Tim Hooper expressed excitement about the venue’s acoustics, which complement Handel’s work. Handel’s coronation anthems have been featured in every British coronation since their composition for George II in 1727. For details, visit the choir’s website.
