Poole Model Railway Society Marks 70th Anniversary Celebration

The Poole and District Model Railway Society, originally named Bournemouth Model Railway Society, celebrates 70 years since its founding on August 31, 1956. Initially, it aimed to support modellers and create exhibition layouts, starting its first OO gauge layout in 1957. The society has since moved locations multiple times, settling at its current site on Lagland Street, Poole, in July 2024. The club accommodates various gauges and boasts a bi-weekly meeting schedule. Additionally, it organizes an annual model railway exhibition in October and welcomes new members to join its activities and community.
