Man sentenced to two years after a four-day manhunt

Jason Evans, 32, was sentenced at Bournemouth Crown Court after pleading guilty to assault and escape charges. Following a magistrates’ court appearance on April 2, he managed to escape from a prisoner transport vehicle in Poole. Dorset Police launched a search, including aerial support, urging the public to assist. After four days, Evans was returned to custody. His sentence included 16 months for administering a noxious substance, 14 months for escape, and concurrent sentences of eight months for other assault charges, totaling two and a half years.
