In 2024, Poole Park’s Whitecliff entrance will be permanently closed after a consultation and trial period, but other vehicle access points and parking remain unaffected. Opened in 1890, Poole Park spans 110 acres and features recreational facilities. Following the Reform party’s majority gain in the Poole Town Council, calls have emerged to consider reopening the entrance. Councillor Xena Dion acknowledged public support for this change and emphasized the Council’s intention to resist any work that would hinder future reopening efforts.
