MVV Environment Limited proposed to demolish structures at Canford Resource Park, Wimborne, to build an Energy from Waste Combined Heat and Power (EfW CHP) facility, capable of processing 260,000 tonnes of waste annually. However, BCP Council’s planning committee rejected the plans on June 12, 2025, with six out of nine councillors opposing. The proposal received 469 objections citing health, environmental, and safety concerns, while supporters argued for its proximity to waste generation. MVV has appealed the decision, prompting a public inquiry starting on June 2, which will consider various expert testimonies over 23 days.
