A satellite-tagged juvenile eagle, G834, arrived in the North York Moors on April 30 but stopped transmitting on May 1, prompting a police investigation due to its suspicious disappearance. G834 was the first White-tailed Eagle to fledge from a wild nest in Dorset since the 1700s, having travelled across England in spring. Birds of Poole Harbour expressed “despair and anger” over its disappearance, noting a concerning pattern of tagged birds vanishing in North Yorkshire, particularly near game shooting areas. The public is encouraged to report any information to North Yorkshire Police.
