Dorset Police is honoring its volunteers during National Volunteers’ Week from June 1 to 7. Over the past year, volunteers, including the Special Constabulary, have dedicated more than 23,300 hours, equivalent to over 5,000 shifts, enhancing community safety in Dorset. The force includes 56 special constables, 128 police support volunteers, and over 1,200 Community Speed Watch volunteers. Assistant Chief Officer Jo Mosley expressed gratitude for their commitment and professionalism, while Police and Crime Commissioner David Sidwick highlighted the vital role volunteers play in maintaining safety in Dorset communities.
