Dorset Day on June 1 celebrated the rich heritage and vibrant culture of Bournemouth, Christchurch, and Poole. Councillor Millie Earl emphasized that the region’s appeal extends beyond its natural beauty. Residents were encouraged to explore local museums, galleries, and cultural events this summer. The Russell-Cotes Art Gallery & Museum highlighted the Flower Fairies exhibition featuring Cicely Mary Barker’s works inspired by Dorset. Andy Martin, from BCP Council, called it an opportunity to showcase the area’s diverse cultural assets, such as Highcliffe Castle and the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, which are valuable to the community.
