Voting for Britain’s Favourite Butterfly ends on 7 June

Dorset’s Holly Blue butterfly leads in public voting for Butterfly Conservation’s inaugural “Britain’s Favourite Butterfly” campaign, with the Orange-tip and Peacock closely following. Voting is open until June 7. Kate Merry, head of engagement, highlighted the strong public sentiment for butterflies. The campaign aims to raise awareness about butterfly conservation, as 80% of the UK’s 60 species have declined over the past 50 years due to environmental changes. Local residents are encouraged to participate and learn more through a dedicated voting website, which includes fun butterfly facts and personality quizzes. The winner will be announced later in the month.
