Following recent disorder on Bournemouth Beach, Council leader Millie Earl proposed measures requiring government approval to address anti-social behavior. Earl advocates for higher parking fines to deter unsafe parking and a visitor levy to help fund local infrastructure, easing the financial burden on taxpayers. She stressed that the area’s majority of respectful visitors should not be affected by a minority causing disruption. Additionally, Earl highlighted that Bournemouth has one of the lowest-funded police forces in the country and called for increased government funding to better manage seasonal pressures on public safety.
