National Grid starts maintenance project via Nursling

National Grid is upgrading the 400kV transmission line between Nursling and Mannington in Dorset, involving 115 pylons and spanning the New Forest National Park. Scheduled between June and November 2026, the work aims to enhance electricity supply reliability through refurbishments, including equipment and conductor replacements. Power supply will remain uninterrupted as circuits are refurbished individually. Limited public disruption is anticipated, with potential temporary closures of roads and footpaths. Residents will be informed of updates via email and a dedicated WhatsApp channel. Preparatory activities like site inspections and vegetation clearance are nearing completion.
