Man detained and numerous knives confiscated in police operation

During Operation Sceptre, a national initiative to combat knife crime, Dorset Police seized numerous knives and arrested a 43-year-old man in Bournemouth after finding a flick knife and suspected drugs. A total of 12 shops in Bournemouth were checked, with three failing to ask for ID during knife sales. In Weymouth, officers executed a warrant and confiscated various weapons along with suspected drugs and stolen motorbikes. Engagement events educated about knife risks, with presentations reaching approximately 1,500 school pupils. Police emphasized community cooperation in enhancing safety in Dorset, utilizing knife surrender bins for anonymous weapon disposal.
