Dorset Council seeks feedback on dog-related PSPO proposal

Dorset Council is seeking feedback on a proposed Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) focused on dog management in parks and beaches. The PSPO, which outlines rules regarding dog fouling, designated areas for dogs, and leash requirements, aims to enhance public safety and enjoyment. Councillor Matt Bell emphasized the importance of balancing community needs, inviting input from dog owners, residents, and visitors. The existing PSPO, active since January 2024, will expire at year-end. If approved, the new order will take effect on January 1, 2027, and remain for three years. The consultation is open until August 7, 2023.
