Dorset Council has validated a planning application for the Chalk & Padel development at Thorneydown Farm, near Sixpenny Handley. If approved, it will feature three indoor padel courts, wellness facilities, and a New Zealand-inspired café, filling a current gap in the region for padel facilities. Ben Chick, the project’s initiator and farmer, aims to create a space promoting wellness and community. The project is expected to serve areas in north Dorset and south Wiltshire and encourages longer visits beyond just playing. A founding membership waitlist is now open, with hopes to open by late 2026 or early 2027.
