Seafront Mini Market granted licence to sell alcohol until 11pm

The Seafront Mini Market in Bournemouth originally sought licensing to sell alcohol from 8am to 3am, alongside late-night refreshment. However, after concerns from Dorset Police, YMCA, and local officials, hours were adjusted to 8am-11pm without late-night service. The YMCA expressed worries about the impact on vulnerable individuals in its housing facilities due to increased alcohol availability leading to health and community issues. Despite ongoing concerns, the licensing committee approved the reduced hours with specific conditions, including limiting alcohol strength and requiring CCTV, resulting in withdrawn objections from police and the Council Leader.
