Poole library RAAC removal works begin

Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council has commenced removing reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete (RAAC) from the roof of Poole Central Library, located in the Dolphin Centre. The library remains open, with services continuing normally, though visitors may experience some noise and disruption during the removal process. There is no immediate risk to patrons or staff. RAAC was previously identified in another part of the Dolphin Centre in February 2025. Councillor Andy Martin assured that the council will monitor the situation and keep the community updated regarding any changes to services or hours. The work is expected to take around a year.
