Thousands flock to BCP coast over bank holiday

Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council reported a surge in visitors during the Spring bank holiday and half-term, driven by warm weather and events like Bournemouth 7s and the Christchurch Food Festival. Councillor Richard Herrett commended local staff and volunteers for ensuring visitor safety. However, nearly 3,000 parking fines were issued for illegal parking, prompting calls for stricter enforcement. Over the weekend, the RNLI and council teams aided in reuniting 64 lost children or vulnerable adults with their families. The council emphasized its beaches’ popularity, boasting six awarded Blue Flags for 2026.
