Amber heat warning issued as Dorset temperatures increase

The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) has issued an amber heat warning for the south west from May 26, 10am to May 28, 5pm, particularly affecting vulnerable groups, including those over 65 and individuals with pre-existing health conditions. Dr. Chaam Klinger emphasized the importance of precautions during this warm weather. Residents and visitors are advised to keep homes cool, avoid sun exposure between 11am and 3pm, wear suitable clothing, and apply sunscreen. Furthermore, swimming should only occur in supervised areas, with a focus on children’s safety near water.
