James Hirst from Fordingbridge completed a 650-mile trek along the South West Coast Path in 39 days, raising nearly £9,000 for Salisbury Hospice in memory of his mother, Nikee, who passed away from breast cancer in 2020. The journey, which included extra miles beyond the official route, served as a personal tribute, with James carrying his equipment and often camping, supported by the kindness of strangers. Nikki Spicer, chair of Salisbury Hospice Charity, praised his inspiring achievement, highlighting its impact on providing vital care for patients and families in need. James plans to celebrate his accomplishment simply.
