BCP Council is implementing measures to reduce algae blooms in Poole Park Lake by flushing the lagoon monthly through a sluice gate, exchanging water with Poole Harbour. This method helps maintain necessary salinity levels and supports local wildlife. Regular water quality testing is conducted by Rockley Watersports and Wessex Water. Following a significant reconstruction in 2019 to enhance access and infrastructure, the lagoon’s conditions were further improved in 2007 by dredging its bottom. The council emphasizes the importance of these efforts to ensure the ecological health of the lake and its surrounding environment.
