Businesses on Gervis Place express concern over insufficient notice regarding road upgrades set to last until early 2027. Starting May 23, Gervis Place will close from the pedestrian crossing to Westover Road to enhance bus journeys and waiting facilities. Councillor Andy Martin assures that the upgrades aim to improve safety and accessibility, especially for those with mobility needs. While acknowledging the disruption, he emphasizes the plans to minimize impact with temporary delivery areas and clear signage. A public consultation showed 72% support for the improvements, which include two-way bus movements along Old Christchurch Road.
