Council faces backlash over poor communication on town roadworks

Local businesses expressed concerns over a lack of communication from BCP Council regarding upcoming roadworks on Gervis Place, set to begin on May 23 and last approximately eight months. Business owners, including Alan Hearn from Haus Male Grooming and Jess from Stable, highlighted that they did not receive advance notice, impacting deliveries and customer awareness. They emphasized that earlier communication would have better prepared them for the disruptions. In response, Councillor Andy Martin stated that the upgrades are designed to improve bus services and that measures are in place to minimize disruptions for businesses and residents.
