Dorset invests in new gully cleaner

Dorset Council has introduced a new gully cleaner as part of a £5.2 million investment aimed at enhancing flood resilience following last winter’s flooding. The tanker will be responsible for emptying roadside gullies and cleaning drainage pipes while also identifying areas needing repairs. With over 90,000 gullies in the county, year-round maintenance is crucial for managing surface water on roads. This additional resource will enable teams to be more proactive in areas severely impacted by the previous winter’s flooding.
