The latest Neighbourhood Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) funding is set to enhance local amenities, including libraries, playgrounds, and defibrillators. A significant portion is dedicated to road safety and active travel improvements in Bearwood and Merley. Key allocations include £301,400 for accessible infrastructure and £200,000 for upgrading the Charter Road play area. Eight projects focus on play equipment, in alignment with BCP Council’s Play strategy. Improvements also target libraries and community spaces, with new ponds planned. Council officials emphasize the funding’s role in creating safe, high-quality recreational spaces and enhancing community engagement with nature.
