Care home resident celebrates birthday at Pavilion Theatre

Zara Taken, a resident at Care UK’s The Potteries in Broadstone, has been singing since her 20s, performing nationally, including in Madama Butterfly. For her 91st birthday, staff arranged a surprise visit to a performance of Puccini’s opera at the Bournemouth Pavilion Theatre. Zara, who played Madama Butterfly in the past, reminisced about her experiences, stating the evening was magical. With prosecco, flowers, and a chance to meet the cast, it was a dream come true, thanks to Care UK’s Wishing Tree initiative. Home manager Zita Turner emphasized the importance of fulfilling such wishes for residents.
