New book reveals SAS hero’s covert wartime life in Dorset

Major Peter Weaver, a World War II veteran from Swanage, played a crucial role in covert operations as part of the British Auxiliary Units. His daughter Joanna Weaver and Dr. William Ward authored “SAS Rogue: The Clandestine Life of Peter Weaver,” detailing his exceptional service, including his leadership in sabotage missions in west Dorset and involvement in the early liberation of Bergen-Belsen. The biography, compiled from his diaries, includes over 100,000 words and 30 photographs, expanding on his recruitment into the SAS and missions across Europe. The book was published on May 9 and will have its launch on June 20 at Waterstones in Dorchester.
