Emergency services combat gorse blaze at Hengistbury Head

On Saturday, May 16, at around 12:17 PM, emergency services responded to a gorse fire at Hengistbury Head, measuring approximately 100 meters by 50 meters. Fire crews from Springbourne, Westbourne, Christchurch, and Ringwood worked to contain the blaze, which was surrounded and being extinguished with hoses and beaters. A spokesperson for Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that teams would remain on-site for several hours to ensure the fire was fully out. The public was advised to avoid the area during the operation.
